When I was a teenager I would listen to the song “One of Us” by Joan Osbourne and think about how amazing it is that God actually IS one of us. That’s the good news that Christmas is all about, Immanuel, God with us!

I received a devotional thought last week that has totally changed how I read the Christmas story, but which also really reinforced for me the beautiful ordinariness of the way God chose to become flesh in Jesus Christ.
